One of the most iconic landmarks of Toucheng is Guishan Island (Turtle Island),
which can be seen from the coastline of Yilan.
Toucheng is uniquely blessed with both rolling hills and the vast Pacific Ocean.
The harmony between mountains and sea perfectly symbolizes relaxation and escape—
And this is exactly why the host named it: “Hi House” — A place between the hills and the ocean.

but also one of the cultural relay stations along the Tamsui-Kavalan trail.
It is a space where travelers can rest, explore, and experience the deeper stories of Yilan.
Brand & Design
The English name “Hi House” reflects a warm and welcoming spirit.
The logo of Hi House was hand-drawn by co-founder Wendy, blending a sense of warmth with modern elegance.
Founder’s Vision
The founder, Lulu, is a native of Yilan.
After graduating, she moved to Taipei for work and lived there for many years.
However, deep in her heart, she always felt a strong desire to give back to her hometown.
During her free time, she would often return to Yilan—exploring, observing, and reflecting on one question:
“How can I truly contribute to this land?”
After years of contemplation, she decided to establish a homestay in Yilan—
A place that could:
- Introduce the natural beauty of Yilan
- Share its history and culture
- Attract visitors and bring vitality and economic value to the region
A Creative Host
Lulu is not only a host, but also a creative soul.
In her spare time, she enjoys writing short essays and reflections.
All of the marketing content and storytelling of Hi House are personally written by Lulu herself.
Let’s take a moment to enjoy her words…
